Baidyanath Abhayarishta BENEFITS & MEDICINAL USES

Abhayarishta (Abhayarishtam) benefits in all types of hemorrhoids, abdominal diseases, and constipation and difficult urination (dysuria). It increases digestive fire. The improvement in digestive fire helps proper digestion of food particles. Ultimately, it reduces toxins accumulation and increases their elimination.

Piles (Haemorrhoids)

Piles (Haemorrhoids) are the main indication for using Abhayarishta. Abhayarishtam reduces pressure in the lower section of the large intestine, which helps reducing swelling of veins (hemorrhoids). Secondly, the most common cause of piles is constipation. It also works on peristalsis movement, improves bowel movement and removes constipation. In bleeding piles, Abhayarishtam should be used along with Arshoghni Vati. In non-bleeding piles, it can use be along with Kankayan Gutika.

Anal Fissure

The most common cause of anal fissure is constipation and hard stool. In such a case, Abhayarishta is very useful for eliminating constipation and reducing the habit of hard stools. In such case, cow’s ghee or almond oil should be consumed in a dosage of 1 teaspoon with warm water 30 minutes before taking it. This remedy has excellent results in reducing the occurrence of hard stools.

Local application for anal fissure is also necessary. Jatyadi Oil is best for local application because is promotes quick recovery and faster healing of fissures. Additionally, patent medicines like Pilex Ointment (Himalaya) or Pilief ointment (Charak) are efficacious for reducing anal itching, burning and discomfort.

In severe cases of anal fissures, the patient may also require additional internal medicines like Gandhak RasayanRajat Bhasma and Praval Pishti.

Constipation

In mild constipation, Abhayarishtam alone works very fine. It can be used on a regular basis for 2 to 4 weeks for complete relief from mild constipation. Fibre rich diet should also be included in the diet to avoid future difficulty with defecation and proper bowel movement.

Cow’s ghee or almond oil should be taken with warm water or warm milk 30 minutes before taking Abhayarishta in case of hard stools.

It provides long-term relief from constipation because it also acts on the peristalsis movement of intestines and liver additional to its laxative action. It increases the secretion of bile from the liver and bile induces peristalsis movement, which helps in easier bowel movement.

Some people may not have a hard stool, but have trouble in bowel movement. Generally, the stool becomes sticky and passes in very small quantity. In such cases, Abhayarishtam is beneficial for reducing excess fats and mucus content in the stools, which produces stickiness and foul smell. In such cases, it should be used alone or along with a pinch of Trikatu.

Abdominal bloating

People with abdominal bloating feels the gaseous or uncomfortably full abdomen. Abhayarishtam contains Haritaki as the main ingredient, which reduces intestinal gas, flatulence, and gaseous cramps in the abdomen. It promotes proper elimination of excess gas from the intestines and checks its further production. In mild cases, Abhayarishta alone works well and no other medicine is required, but in chronic cases, Arogyavardhini Vati and Lasunadi Vati can also be used along with it.

Colon Cleansing

Abhayarishta is the best ayurvedic medicine that helps in colon cleansing. Its regular use for about a month improves intestinal and colon health. It removes sticky Ama Dosha (toxins) from the intestinal wall. It improves the strength of the intestine and restores natural peristalsis.
