Elevated Liver Enzymes

Elevated or altered liver profile (ALANINE TRANSAMINASE or ALT / SGPT and ASPARTATE TRANSAMINASE or AST / SGOT) may indicate inflammation of the liver or damage to the liver cells. Liv.52 helps reduce inflammation and thus decrease the secretion of certain chemicals, which are leaked out from the inflamed cells into the bloodstream.

In many cases, liver enzymes may elevate mildly or temporarily.  In these cases, patient may not require treatment for this because there is no underlying chronic or serious liver disease. Using Liv.52 can prevent further damage to the liver and reduces liver inflammation. Therefore, it may be advisable to use Liv.52 in such cases as well. If you are taking any form of steroids and it affects your liver health, then you can start Liv 52 to restore your liver functions and maintain its health. Generally, anabolic steroids can lead to cholestasis in which bile flow from the liver to digestive tract becomes obstructed. This condition can cause leakage of fluids into the blood, which can cause nausea, poor appetite, itching, jaundice and change in color of urine. In such cases, Liv 52 along with Kutki (Picrorhiza Kurroa), Punarnava (Boerhavia Diffusa) and Bhringraj (Eclipta Alba) should help.

What is the treatment duration to cure jaundice?

It depends on the cause of jaundice. If it is mild occurring due curable liver disease or infection, then 3 months treatment with Liv 52 should be sufficient.

There is no duration specified. The duration of its use depends on the underlying cause of the disease. Generally, it is advised to use it at least for 3 months. It can also be used on a long-term basis and in some diseases like Hepatitis B & C and liver cancer it can be used throughout the life.

Does it improve liver function test results?

Yes, Liv 52 helps to reduce the elevated liver enzymes. However, it still depends on the severity of the disease. In general and mild cases it is likely to normalize the liver function test results.

I am using Liv 52 supplement for improving appetite, but it is not improved. Why?

Appetite will improve slowly. In most cases, it shows results within 2 to 4 weeks. The recommended duration of its use in poor appetite is 3 months. If you are still not getting the results, then you may also require other remedies like Trikatu Churna or Chitrakadi Vati etc. for increasing appetite.

If you are suffering from gastritis, dyspepsia, acidity or heartburn, then Liv 52 formulations are less likely to increase the appetite. According to ayurveda, you have increased Pitta. Your appetite loss may also be due to acid dyspepsia or hyperacidity. Therefore, Liv 52, Trikatu Churna, or Chitrakadi Vati may not help you. In such case, you require a proper treatment of hyperacidity, dyspepsia or gastritis. In such case, a mixture of Praval Pishti, Amla Powder (Indian Gooseberry), Mulethi Powder and Mukta Shukti Pishti are more beneficial. All ingredients should be taken in equal amount and 1/3 teaspoon is an adequate dosage and should be taken thrice daily with a meal.

Can liver 52 help to treat liver cirrhosis?

Liv.52 will help in liver cirrhosis because it has significant hepatoprotective action. According to research studies, long-term treatment with Liv.52 has significant results as compared to several conventional medicines.

All clinical studies are in favor of Liv 52’s usefulness in liver diseases due to potent hepatoprotective action. We have also never seen any toxic effects in thousands of our patient who have used Liv 52, not even for a short period, but many of them were using it for years.

Can kidney patients take HIMALAYA LIV 52 SYRUP?

It does not likely to affect kidney functions and it is considerably safer than many modern medicines for kidneys, which are nowadays commonly used.

Can I take HIMALAYA LIV 52 SYRUP with milk?

It should not be taken with milk. It works better with warm water.

Will it help in removing Ama, Amavisha, and Gravisha all three?

It will work on AMA and Amavisha, but not on the extent as Trikatu Churna works. It does not likely to work on Garvisha.

Since, it’s detoxifying in nature, won’t there be any HEALING CRISIS (DETOX CRISIS)? What should be done if there’s a possibility of that?
